Located in the Randsburg mining district about 24 miles north of the town of Mojave on California's Highway 14, Red Rock Canyon offers a bit of unexpected drama to the driver headed towards the eastern Sierra Nevada.

Here is a small photo album of this spectacular place and its less well-known companion, Last Chance Canyon. Long familiar to rock hounds, miners, and off-roaders, this remote corner of the Mojave offers a good introduction to the wonders of the high desert wilderness.
